A rare set of 6 "São Paulo" chairs by leading Brazilian architect Carlos Motta. These simple, beautiful, highly comfortable dining chairs are constructed of Brazilian eucalyptus with black formica seats. As with all of Motta's furniture, he uses ecologically certified or reclaimed wood, resulting in strong, heirloom quality pieces handmade with minimal environmental impact. These small, versatile chairs make a large visual statement and pair seamlessly with virtually any aesthetic whether modern, rustic, or more traditional. The warm curved back rests and smooth, stack laminated seats contrast beautifully against the stark black formica, and the reddish-toned, wormy wood bases--while simple in form--are loaded with character and glow with patina. They will bring tons of woody warmth into your space.
The chairs are in excellent vintage condition with light, age-consistent wear and patina. All chairs are structurally solid as can be.
