A very rare and early Evans plywood coffee table designed by Charles and Ray Eames and produced by Evans Molded Plywood Division, as part of an experimental plywood series. This wonderful example is in excellent vintage condition, with very minimal wear. The top has been gently refinished and waxed, and is super smooth to the touch, showing only very light and lovely cosmetic patina. The sculptural, folded corners and edges are in immaculate shape. It is stamped "EVANS" on the back of the plywood top. Custom aluminum legs and hardware have been retrofitted to work with the original x-form underside construction. The contrast of the smooth, gray aluminum against the warm, smooth, yellowed plywood is very aesthetically pleasing. This table is truly a piece of design history, and the perfect addition to any Eames collection. Only a few example of this table have come up over the years, so don't miss out on the opportunity to own this treasure.
