A beautiful, one-of-a-kind, custom commissioned chess table by Gordon and Jane Martz for Marshall Studios, circa 1960s. This piece features a round top with stunning hand thrown ceramic tiles and chess board and a solid sculpted walnut base with beautiful, warm grain. The warmth of the reddish-brown walnut contrasts beautifully against the speckled, yellow-green ceramic. This unique table is extremely versatile and will blend in seamlessly with a number of different interior aesthetics. It is in superb restored condition: all the walnut elements have been lovingly refinished and brought back to their original luster. The ceramic top is absolutely perfect. We've never seen another Marts chess table and it may very well be the only one!
