Uncommon side table by bauhaus trained designer Michael Van Beuren, designed in Mexico circa 1950s. Solid pine construction with woven palm top. The wood has an incredibly warm patina to it. The woven top is as strong as it was 70 years ago. This piece is stamped in two places "Mexico" and "Made in Mexico". The frame has been lightly refinished and waxed, but not as to strip away the delightful patina. This table can hold a heavy stack of books or even the weight of an adult. Overall wonderful vintage condition with nominal cosmetic wear.
