A wonderful pair of leather butaque chairs made in Mexico in the 1970s. Delightful rustic, primitive aesthetic. Solid wood frames with classically curled arms, scoop form, and the tops adorned with ornate finials. Thick, distressed leather cowhide seats with patinated brass tacks ornamenting the perimeter. These chairs have been gently refinished--the frames were sanded and waxed and are perfectly smooth to the touch. All joints were re-glued. The chairs are super solid and sturdy, ready for another 5 decades of use. Surprising comfortable.
