This stunning "Sheriff" sofa was designed by the renowned Brazilian designer Sergio Rodrigues in the 1950s. This example was manufactured in Italy in the 1960s when it was licensed to ISA Bergamo. The sofa embodies an uncommon combination of sexy, sophisticated aesthetic and tremendous comfort, featuring a solid Imbuia wood frame, original leather straps, and vintage, nubby Haitian cotton fabric with feather down inserts. The cushions are designed to hand off each edge of the sofa, creating a soft, laid back, organic form.
The sofa has been lovingly restored: the frame has been refinished and is in lovely vintage condition. All the cushions have been brought back to life with new feather down inserts, and each of the large cushions has been re-tufted by hand. Excellent vintage condition overall, ready for another 50 years of cozy lounging.
