An early and uncommon pair of Model 1682 lounge chairs designed by T.H. Robsjohn Gibbing and produced by Widdicomb in 1951. These petite lounge chairs are extremely solid and heavy duty with heirloom quality construction. They feature rounded, spindle backs and splayed, reverse tapered legs. Solid walnut framed with thick, attached seat and back cushions in gorgeous cotton velvet, tufted to perfection. Beautiful warmth to the wood. The soft, mushroom velvet is absolutely stunning. These chairs have a total French modernist aura, giving off clear Charlotte Perriand and Jean Touret vibes. They have been fully restored--the framed have been beautifully refinished and all joints reglued. The velvet upholstery is brand new and in excellent condition.
