A rare, signed Butaque chair designed by William Spratling, produced in his workshop in Taxco, Mexico in the 1940’s. The chair is handmade of Mexican sabino wood and thick cognac leather which is tacked along the edges. It is branded with the iconic Spratling “WS” monogram, as well as “Taxco”. This lovely example has been very gently restored and is in wonderful vintage condition. It has the perfect amount of smooth, even patina and is strong and sturdy, ready for use.
