Adrian Pearsall 'Model 3600-8' "Cloud" for Craft Associates, circa 1970. This stunning, large-scale piece is defined by its graceful, undulating form, which floats atop a black recessed platform base, creating the appearance of it floating off the ground, like a cloud. A four inch strip of solid, beautifully grained walnut accents the front of the sofa, adding a bit of luxurious flair to the piece. The reddish-brown walnut contrast beautifully against the nubby, chalk white upholstery, framing the beautiful form of the sofa.
This example is the most uncommon and most desirable configuration: it is one solid piece, so there are no ugly "sectional" lines. Rather, the whole thing is one flowing sculpture, curving beautifully from every single angle without distraction.
This piece has undergone a full restoration. The black plinth base has been re-painted, the straps and foam have been replaced, and the stunning upholstery is brand new. It is ready to be placed in a high end interior, and is guaranteed to be the focal point of any space. And yes, it is very comfortable--you won't want to leave the chaise lounge!
