A beautifully proportioned lounge chair by Arne Vodder, manufactured by Ivan Schlechter in the early 1950s. This example sports its original distressed, fiery cognac leather and has lots of character. Some tears to the back don't hinder its use or its beauty whatsoever and actually add a charmingly rustic dimension to the chair. This example is extra special, as it has the most incredible solid Danish Rosewood legs, all of which have sensational swirling grain.
The form of this chair encapsulates danish design at its best--it is absolutely timeless and sophisticated, without trying to hard. Comfort is 10/10. The perfect feather down cushion allows you to sink in, while the contoured back literally envelopes you.
This chair is built to last. The construction and craftsmanship are absolutely top notch, and even with its smaller scale, it is a heavy, incredibly solid piece--no need to be gentle with it.
All in all, this chair has everything you want. Stunning form. Cognac colored leather. Rosewood legs. Superior comfort. And it's all original. This is a collectible piece of design which will hold its value indefinitely.
