Feast your eyes on this magnificent "San Franciscan" sofa designed by Greta Grossman in 1947. This is the only known example that has ever come to market, so when we say it's rare, we really mean it's rare! This wonderful design is so so unique, with a low, angular, boomerang form and its open back in the middle, there is nothing else quite like is. This design is really quite exquisite and will hold up in a room with the best of the best collectible design, whether that be French, Italian, or American.
This sofa has been beautifully restored. The original hand tied springs have all been retied, and the original horsehair filling is beautifully intact. The upholstery has been updated in a gorgeous, nubby Haitian cotton fabric with is is soft and super resilient and will age beautifully. The solid wood conical legs have been lightly touched up and still show beautiful patina/proof of age, which we think juxtaposes beautifully against the new, neutral fabric.
This piece is in absolutely fantastic restored condition and is ready to be placed in a high end interior. Don't miss your opportunity to own this COLLECTIBLE piece of design history. You will literally own the only known example that exists!
