This Brazilian modernist "Earth" sofa was designed by Percival Lafer, and manufactured in Brazil in the 1970s. The incredibly comfortable settee features a "scoop" form seat with patchwork upholstery, which sits atop a metal sled form base with faux wood grain veneer. The sofa has been newly reupholstered in a thick, chocolate brown, distressed leather which will age beautifully over time. The sofa's soft, organic form encapsulates the spirit of the Brazilian modernist movement. This highly comfortable, highly versatile piece will blend seamlessly into basically any interior aesthetic, adding an instant dose of warmth and charm into the space.
As mentioned, the sofa has been reupholstered in a natural, distressed leather. The sled base is totally original and shows age appropriate cosmetic wear including some minor veneer loss which is difficult to see unless you inspecting it up close.
