Pair of early 1950s lounge chairs designed by Eva Lisa "Pipsan" Saarinen Swanson, sister of famous designer/architect Eero Saarinen. She and her husband worked together and designed a series of furniture for Ficks-Reed, called the "Sol-Air" line. Wrought iron and wood frame with rope back. New cushions are upholstered in a wonderful, nubby, textured, Haitian cotton. Frames have been professionally restored to bring out the natural beauty of the pine. Iron frames show beautiful cosmetic patina. Overall excellent vintage condition.
