A sensational set of 6 sculpted rosewood "Pigreco" dining chairs by Tobia Scarpa. The deep wispy rosewood frames are beautifully complimented by handpicked cognac calfskin leather seats. These chairs embody a natural moodiness capable of transforming a space. Unique details abound: sculpted arms, large chunky joinery on the back legs, floating seats,, incredible grain.
These chairs are quite low, with the backrest hitting the lower part of the back, and they are low enough to push under a dining table completely, if you want to instantly declutter the space.
A rare rosewood set like this doesn't come up too often, so don't miss your chance to own these investment worthy specimens.
From the manufacturer: "The essential nature of a sign. The proportion of solids and voids. The harmony between straight and curved lines. Every feature of this chair responds to a logic: conveying a “sense of space” to a traditionally static object. The triangle acts as a dynamic element and is reinforced by the two rear legs, which come closer together to give the seat stability without compromising the feeling of lightness that pervades the object. Tobia Scarpa’s graduation project at the University of Venice in 1959, this is the first product ever designed by the Italian architect."
Dimensions: 22ʺW × 17.25ʺD × 24ʺH
Seat Height: 16"
Condition Notes: The chairs have been professionally refinished and reupholstered. They may show tiny, nominal signs of age if examined closely, however all in all, they show beautifully and are ready to be placed in a high end interior project.
